わき道に入ったら迷子になった。
近道のつもりが遠まわりになり
角を曲がるたびに道幅が狭くなるのだった。
見慣れぬ光景が次々と目に入る。
カエルの干物を売る店、
カメの甲羅を頭で割る男、
飾り窓から尻を突き出す厚化粧な女。
見知らぬ異国の街なので
まったく言葉が通じない。
身振り手振りで話しかけたら
なぜか怒られ、殴られてしまった。
それで、しゃがんで泣いていたら
変なところで猫が鳴く。
声のする方を見上げると
通路の壁に首まで猫が埋まっていた。
頭を撫でようと手を伸ばしたら
その指を思いっ切り噛まれた。
壁猫は指を噛んだまま放さない。
それで困っていたら
通りすがりの洗濯女がナイフを貸してくれた。
さて、どうしよう？
ここは、ちょっと迷うところだ。
首を切るべきか、指を切るべきか。
Lost in a Foreign Country
I got lost when I entered the side road.
The short cut intention became a detour,
and the width of the road narrowed
each time I turned a corner.
Unfamiliar sights come into my sight
one after another.
A shop that sells dried frogs,
a man who cracks a turtle's shell with his head,
and a woman with thick makeup
who sticks out her butt
through a decorative window.
It's a strange foreign city, so I can't speak at all.
When I talked to someone by gesture,
he was angry and hit me for some reason.
So when I crouched and cried,
a cat screamed in a weird place.
When I looked up at the one
who was making a voice,
a cat was buried in the wall of the passage
to the neck.
I reached out to pat the head
and it bit my finger hard.
The wall cat doesn't let go of my finger.
So when I was in trouble,
the passing laundry woman lent me a knife.
What should I do?
I'm a little lost here.
Should I cut the cat's neck or cut my fingers?
