僕はいつもの帰り道を通れない。
びっくりするくらい大きなカンガルーが
曲がり角のところで待ち伏せしてるはずだから。
おそらく野良ではなく、飼いカンガルーだろう。
なぜなら、両手にボクシングのグローブをはめている。
それでも、あんなに大きくなると、さすがに怖い。
しかも、必ずスパーリングを求めてくる。
僕の見た目が弱そうに見えるのか、強そうに見えるのか
なぜか僕をパートナーとして気に入ったようなのだ。
もちろん僕は、いかれたカンガルーの相手なんかしたくない。
ボクシングは見るものであって、するもんじゃない。
それで僕は、越えなくてもいい線路を越えたりして
わざわざ遠まわりして帰宅することになる。
カンガルーの語源は「わからない」という意味ではないそうだが
あいつらの考えていること、ホントわからない。

Kangaroo Ambush
I can't take the usual way home.
I'm sure there's a giant kangaroo
waiting for me around the corner.
Maybe he's a domestic kangaroo, not a stray.
Because he wears boxing gloves on both hands.
Still, when it gets that big, it's scary.
And he always asks for sparring.
Whether I look weak or strong, for some reason
he seems to like me as a partner.
Of course I don't want to be with a crazy kangaroo.
Boxing is something you see, not something you do.
That's why I crossed the train tracks
that didn't have to be crossed
I will take a detour and go home.
Kangaroo's etymology doesn't mean "I don't know,"
but I really don't understand what they're thinking.
