続けてピンポンダッシュの被害を受けていたせいか
私は物音に対していくらか敏感になっていたらしい。
鉄道会社に就職して改札口の担当をまかされたら
定期券が通り抜けるたびにメロディが聞こえてきた。
さらには歌詞のわかる歌まで聞こえるようになった。
♪ できれば 見逃して 欲しいのよ ♪
だから、使用期限の切れた定期券は見なくてもわかる。
「お客さん。その定期、期限が切れてますよ」
私は笑顔で声をかける。
まだICカードなんか影も形もなかった頃の
素朴な古き良き時代のお話である。
