これから録音するつもりでいる。
そこへ異国の若い女が現れ、作業を手伝うと言う。
そういえば語学研修の話があったな。
「おお、そうか。それはありがたい」
喜んでベンチの隣に座ってもらう。
どこかから奇妙なマイクを取り出す。
ラジオまたはヘアドライヤーのような形。
この使い方を留学生に説明する。
ただし、じつは自分自身よくわかってない。
クッションの上に置こうとすると
同じベンチにいた知人の女が教えてくれる。
「クッションの上は役に立たないわよ。
まだ床の上に置いた方がマシみたいね」
かもしれないが、さすがに床はノイズを拾うだろ。
あたりを見まわしても適当な台がない。
「こうして両手で胸の前に持ちなさい」
とりあえず応急の指示をする。
マイクの正面に変な突起がある。
このボタンをアンテナみたいに引いて伸ばす。
「こうして立てかけて置けば、下の音を拾える」
わかったようなわからない説明をする。
国語と外国語の対訳辞典を持っていたので
「これを読めるかい」と留学生に手渡す。
そこそこ貴重な辞典のようで、留学生は感心する。
もうひとりの留学生の女と取り合いになる。
そろそろ番組が始まる時刻だ。
録音レベルが適正か、ちょっと心配。

Recording Work

and foreign languages,
so I handed it to the international students asking.
"Can I read this?"
It seems to be a fairly valuable dictionary,
and international students are impressed.

with another international student woman.
