どこかからどこかへ向かわんと
歩行者天国のような街中を歩いている。
選挙の投票前の時期らしく
市場のように多彩な政党の大売り出し。
優しさの人情に訴えるおばさん候補、
正義に燃えるなんたら主義のおっさん候補、
あやしげな教義を信奉する新興宗教の候補など。
テントを張ったり、テーブルを並べたり
演説たらたら、まっすぐ歩くもままならぬ。
この時ばかりは猫なで声のヤクザ風の男が
水商売の強引な客引きよろしくまとわりつく。
「ええ、なんですな、そうでございんしょう。
いやまったく、いかがなもんですかな」
無視しておるに去らぬので、腹が立ってくる。
「うるせえんだよ。いい加減、あっちへいけ」
すると男は怒り出し、犬のように吠え始める。
と思った途端、すぐ隣を歩いていた男は
前方から走ってきたクルマと正面衝突。
クルマのフロントに貼りついたまま後方へ去る。
なんだ、歩行者天国ではなかったのか。
いや、小気味よいこと。

From somewhere to somewhere,
I'm walking around the city like a pedestrian paradise.

who follow a suspicious doctrine.

with a cat-stroking voice clings to me
like a forcible bargain in a water business.

I'm angry
because he doesn't leave even though I'm ignoring it.
"It's noisy. Don't be afraid, go over there."
Then he begins to get angry and bark like a dog.
As soon as I thought, he was walking right
next to me and had a head-on collision
with a car running from the front.
He leaves behind, sticking to the front of the car.
Why wasn't this a pedestrian paradise?
