変な本を読んで寝たせいか
近所の住民が窓の外で噂話をしている。
「ホント、冗談みたいね」
「すぐ暗殺されるに決まってるわよ」
これから始まる集会に出席するらしい。
定刻に近くなったので、入場させる。
私は主催者側の人間のようだ。
奥にある座敷の大広間が会場である。
旅館の宴会場を連想させる。
知り合いの社長が正面の座卓に陣取り
有能そうな若い二名の社員を近くに呼び寄せている。
おそらく時期後継者候補なのだろう。
経営の布石とやらもしっかりしてるようだ。
さて、そろそろ時間だな。
床の間のような壇上に立ち、私は宣言する。
「では、これより皆さんの札を切らせていただきます」
