自転車に乗って町へと続く道を進んでいる。
ただし、普通の自転車ではない。
ペダルを回転させるのではなく
両足で同時に下へと踏むタイプなのだ。
どういう機構なのか不明だが
そこそこ新鮮であり、なかなか楽しい。
しばらくすると、歌声が聞こえてきた。
若い男女、カップルの声だ。
高校生かもしれない。
背後から近づいてくる気配からすると
彼らも自転車に乗っているようだ。
「そうさ。何が起こるかわからない。
でも、翼ある限り、僕らは前へ進むんだ」
みたいな感じで、歌詞の詳細は忘れたが
そんなムードだった印象がある。
それはさておき、これから上りの坂道が始まる。
同時踏み込みタイプの自転車では苦しかろう。
背後の歌声が近づき、最初に男が抜き
続いて女も抜いて前へ出る。
やはり高校生のようだ。
元気に歌いながら坂道を上ってゆく。
私はため息をつき、坂道を断念する。
いくらか遠回りになるけれど
平らになるであろう脇道へと方向転換をした。

Singing Bicycle Riders
I am on the road to ride my bike and continue to the town.
However, it is not an ordinary bicycle.
