友人の部屋にいる。
壁際の本棚の中に虫がいる。
ハエほどの小さな虫だ。
人差し指で弾いてやろうとする。
遠近感が狂い、うまく指先が当たらない。
じつは当たっているのかもしれないが
爪の部位であるせいか、確たる感触はない。
なぜか虫はゴキブリほどの大きさになっている。
さすがにもう手を汚したくない。
さらに、ちょっと目を離すと
虫はトカゲほどの大きさのクモになっている。
いや。
トカゲとクモ、合わせて二匹いる。
諦め、友人へバトンタッチする。
友人は鋏を持ち出す。
そのトカゲのような、もう虫とは呼べない生き物を
友人は鋏で挟んで切断せんとする。
そいつは苦しそうに暴れる。
切断面から赤や青の血がにじむ。
すると、トカゲの顔が膨らむ。
鯛のお頭のように丸くなる。
さらには人間の、ある個性的な芸能人の顔になった。
あまつさえ、とうとう喋り出した。
「おいおい、なにやってんだい。冗談じゃないよ」

There Are Insects
I am in a friend's room.
There is an insect in the bookshelf next to the wall.
It is as small as a fly.
