ある芸能事務所の専属歌手がテレビで新曲を披露している。
さして若くもない彼女はこれから売り出すつもりらしい。
ところが残念ながら、その芸能事務所は倒産してしまう。
彼女は芸能界を去らねばならなくなった。
あれこれ騒動の後、元歌手と元社長はタクシーに乗り
行きつけの飲み屋に入った。
そこにはカラオケの設備などあったものの
元歌手は歌いもせず、ふたりは食事してから店を出る。
その店の出入り口のすぐ外で
元歌手は元社長のためにアカペラで歌い出す。
ただし、この曲は新鮮味がないような気がして
すぐに途中で歌い止め、別の曲を選ぶ。
元社長は物陰に隠れるように視界から消えてしまった。
それでも彼女は歌い続ける。
通行人は通るが、ここでやめてはいけない気がして
彼女は最後まで歌うつもりのようだ。
