部品の物色

産業見本市みたいなところ。

会社の一員として行動している。

 

売り場のカウンターの上にトレーがある。

その上に製図道具の部品などが散らばっている。

 

売子に問い合わせてみる。

 

売り物でなく、不要な中古品らしい。

お１人様１点に限り、持ち帰り自由とのこと。

 

喜んで物色する。

使えそうな腕時計もある。

 

だが、迷って選べない。

 

やがて売子が尋ねる。

「後で、と言ったお客様は、昼までに戻りますかね？」

 

少し考えてから答える。

「戻らないかもしれないね」

 

「それでは休憩に入らせてもらいます」

彼女は店の奥へ消えてしまった。

 

私は途方に暮れる。

 

「後で」と誰かに言った記憶が蘇る。

その場所へ戻らなければ。

 

戻ったつもりのその部屋は、葬儀の片づけをしていた。

Select Parts

It is like an industrial trade fair.
I act as a member of the company.

I have to go back to that place.
