社内報のような冊子を持って
隣町のハンコ屋に伯父と一緒に入った。
あるいは不動産屋だったかもしれない。
何事かの調査または協力要請が目的だった。
ところが、冊子を読んだ店主の態度が激変。
「これは日立だな」
産業スパイとでも思ったのだろうか。
「こんなものを戻すわけにはいきませんな」
怒った店主に冊子を没収されてしまった。
交渉決裂である。
納得できない伯父を残して先に外に出る。
裏口にいた店主の奥さんと世間話を少々。
どうやら昔から因縁があるようだ。
Negotiations Broke Down
I went to a stamp shop in the neighboring town
with my uncle with a booklet
like an in-house newsletter.
Or it could have been a real estate agent.
We aimed to investigate something
or request cooperation.
However, the attitude of the shopkeeper
who read the booklet changed drastically.
"This is Hitachi."
Did he think we were industrial espionage?
"I can't bring back something like this."
The booklet was confiscated by the angry shopkeeper.
The negotiations broke down.
If I leave my uncle unconvinced, I will go out first.
I have a little chat
with the shopkeeper's wife at the back door.
Apparently they have a long history.
