廊下の端っこで
持っていたコップの水を床にこぼしてしまったのだ。
玄関に誰かいる。
逆光でよく見えない。
「どうしたの？」
声で母と知れた。
「なんでもないよ」
あわてて濡れた床を手で擦る。
ごまかせない気がする。
ひどく恥ずかしい。
玄関のすぐ外に若い女の姿があった。
柱に寄りかかり、もの言いたげな表情。
幼なじみだった近所の女子か。
ネットで知り合った女にも似ている。
なんにせよ、今は立場ないな。
Spill Water
I failed at the end of the corridor.
I spilled the cup of water I had on the floor.
Someone is at the front door.
I can't see well because of the backlight.

That voice made me known to be my mother.

I hurry and rub the wet floor with my hands.

There was a young woman just outside the front door.
She leans against the pillar
and has a humorous expression.
Is she a girl in the neighborhood
who was a childhood friend?
She looks like a woman I met online.
