最寄り駅へ向かって歩いていた。
唐突に見知らぬ若い女が話しかけてきた。
「あの、食事を奢っていただけませんでしょうか」
返事も返せないでいると、さらに畳みかけてきた。
「あたし、体で払ってもいいんです」
ごく普通のお嬢さん、といった印象。
我が国の貧困、ここに極まれりか。
彼女は諦めたのか、先に歩き出す。
はからずも女を追う形になった。
駅前広場を迂回して定食屋に入る。
そこを出る時、ズボンを穿いていないのに気づく。
引き返すと、若い男がおれのズボンを持っていた。
「それはおれのだ。返せ」
男の手からひったくる。
ズボンの生地のあちこちに絵の具がついていた。
「この絵の具こそ、おれのである証拠だぞ」
はて、あの女はどこへ消えたのだ。
Giving a Meal
I was walking toward the nearest station.
Suddenly a strange young woman talked to me.
"Why don't you eat me?"
She continued, as I couldn't reply.
"I can pay with my body."
