掘削機で岩盤を蹴散らされるみたいに起こされた。
ものすごい騒音だった。
近所で土木工事でもやっているのだろう。
寝ぼけ眼で時計を見る。
非常識な時間帯とは言えない。
しかし、うるさい。
とても眠っていられない。
顔を洗って歯を磨いてトイレに入る。
出して出て服を着てから玄関を出る。
部屋の構造や窓の位置で錯覚するのか
音がするのは家の中で推定した方角と違うようだ。
しばらく自宅の周囲をうろうろする。
どうも騒音の発生源が特定できない。
位置ははっきりしないものの
それらしき家の門柱のチャイムを鳴らしてみる。
留守なのか騒音で聞こえないのか
返事はなく、誰も出てこない。
腹が立ち、その家の玄関に向かって怒鳴る。
「うるさいぞ！」
すると、そのすぐ隣の家の窓が開いて
「うるさいわよ！」
その反対に建つマンションのベランダからは
「いい加減にしろよ！」
さらに向かいの家の玄関ドアが開き
「そっちこそうるさいぞ！」
それから、しばらく怒鳴り合いが続いて
あのひどい騒音が聞こえなくなったくらいである。

Annoying Noise
I was awakened as if the rock was kicked off by an excavator.
It was a tremendous noise.
Someone in the neighborhood
may be doing civil engineering work.
I look at the clock with my drowsy eyes.
It's not an insane time zone.
But noisy.
I can't sleep in this situation.
I wash my face,
brush my teeth and go to the bathroom.
I put it out, go out there,
get dressed, and then go out the front door.
It seems that the sound is different
from the direction estimated in the house,
probably because of the structure of the room
and the position of the windows.
I wander around my house for a while.
I can't identify the source of the noise.
Although the position is not clear,
I try to ring the chime of the gate pillar of those houses.
There was no reply, and no one came out,
whether it was absent
or the noise made it inaudible to the residents.
I get angry and yell at the front door of the house.
"Noisy!"
Then the window of the house next door opened.
"It's noisy!"
On the contrary, there was a voice
from the balcony of the condominium.
"Make it sloppy!"
The front door of the opposite house opened.
"That's noisy!"
Then we yelled at each other for a while,
and I couldn't hear that terrible noise.
