実家に入り、母に言う。
「お隣のニワトリ、うるさいね」
すると、母は言い返す。
「あれはゴエンドンさんとこのニワトリだよ」
屋号で言われてもよくわからない。
だが、お隣の屋号でないことだけはわかる。
「違うんじゃないかな」
「おまえ、あれがゴエンドンさんとこなのか
タケゾウさんとこなのか、確認してくれないかね」
「そんなの自分で確認すればいいだろ」
私にとってはどうでもいいことだし、それに
母は白内障の手術をしてから私より目がいいのだ。
もうなんだかむしゃくしゃしてしまって
これ以上は母との会話を続ける気になれない。

Next Door Chicken
I enter my parents' house and tell my mother.
"The next door chicken is noisy."
Then my mother replies.
"That's Goendon's grated chicken."
I'm not sure if it's said in the store name.
However, I understand that
it is not the name of the house next door.
"Isn't it different?"
"Can you please confirm whether
it is Goendon's place or Takezo's place?"
"You can check it yourself."
It doesn't matter to me,
and my mother looks better than me
after having a cataract surgery.
I'm kind of crumpled
and I don't feel like continuing my conversation
with my mother anymore.
