家の前にある道路は坂道。
今朝はひどく冷えて路面が凍った。
鈍く朝の光を反射して、所々白っぽい。
こちらの歩道から向こうの歩道へ行くためには
アスファルトの車道を越えなければならない。
渡り始めてすぐに滑りそうだな、と気づく。
坂道を上りたいが、ここは一旦
無理せず、下るように前進するしかあるまい。
そして、向こうの歩道の上で考えねばなるまい。
内容を思い出そうとしても思い出せないような
そんなとりとめのない考えを考えねばなるまい。

Frozen Road Surface
The road in front of my house is a slope.
It was very cold this morning
and the road surface froze.
It is dull and reflects the morning light
and is whitish in places.
To get from this sidewalk to the other sidewalk,
I have to cross the asphalt driveway.
As soon as I started crossing,
I realized that it was likely to slip.
I want to go up the slope,
but I have no choice but to go down here
without overdoing it.
And I have to think on the sidewalk over there.
I have to think of such a rambling idea
that I can't remember
even if I try to remember the content.
