夕暮れの気配漂う通りを歩いて
川岸のようでもある海辺を見下ろしている。
白い砂浜を小さな島のように残して
青い海水がひたひたと足もとまで浸水している。
海水は藍色で、白い砂の近くだけが青い。
まるで合成着色料のよう。
ベランダ風の桟橋みたいなところに立ち
さすが沖縄の海だ、などと感心している。
ふと近くの波打ち際で、ヘビが一匹
右往左往している姿が目に入る。
飼いヘビであろうか、妙に人なつっこい表情。
エサでも欲しそうにこちらへ近づいてくる。
なんだか顔が大きくなった気配。
顔つきも猛獣のヒョウを連想させる。
ふと見ると、もっと近くにも別に一匹いる。
さらに、ほんの近くにもう一匹。
右手の指が、そいつの開いた口の中にある。
（うわっ、これはいけない）
なぜか右手を動かせない。
右手の指を救出しようと左手をさし出す。
今、両手の指が開いた口の中にある。
鋭い牙の感触。
早く手を抜かなければ噛まれて危険だ。
なのに、まごまごしている両手の指。
思うように危険を回避できず、あせる。
よく飼いならされたヒョウであれば、と願う。

Blue Sea Leopard
I'm walking down a street with a hint of dusk,
looking down at the beach,
which is also like a riverbank.
Leaving the white sand beach like a small island,
the blue seawater is flooding to my feet.
The seawater is indigo
and only near the white sand is blue.
It's like a synthetic colorant.
I stand in a place like a veranda-style pier
and am impressed that it is the sea of Okinawa.
Suddenly, at the beach near the beach,
I can see a snake moving back and forth.
Whether it's a domestic snake,
it has a strangely friendly look.
It approaches me as if it were food.
It seems that the face of it has grown.
The face is also reminiscent of the beast leopard.
Suddenly, there is another one closer.
In addition, another one in the immediate vicinity.
The finger of my right hand is in its open mouth.
(Wow, this shouldn't be.)
For some reason I can't move my right hand.
I put out my left hand
to rescue the fingers of my right hand.
Now the fingers of my hands are in its open mouth.
The feel of sharp fangs.
I'm in danger of being bitten if I don't pull out quickly.
Yet, the fingers of my hands are confused.
I can't avoid the danger as I expected, and I rush.
I hope it's a well-tamed leopard.
