何気なく立ち寄ったそこは
管理された自然公園みたいなところ。
林の中のはずなのに木立ちで区画されていて
それぞれが部屋のように見える。
丸太や切り株が山積みになった倉庫とか
明るい円形舞台のような場所もある。
声の大きな男の人が誰かと話している。
こちらにも声をかけてくるので
「素敵なところですね」と正直に伝える。
顔の形がヒョウタンを連想させるその人は
「そうだろう、そうだろう」と嬉しそう。
しばらく公園内を案内してもらったあと
その変な人は先に帰りたくなった様子。
「もう他に誰もいなくなってしまうので」
と、ここの鍵を私に預けようとする。
「えぅ、困りますよ。だって
もう私はここに来ないかもしれないのですよ」
その面白い形の顔のまま困った表情。
そこで名案が浮かぶ。
「そうだ。私も今から帰ります。
だったら、鍵を受けとる必要ないでしょ」
結局、そういうことになって帰り支度。
鍵を預かるのが煩わしいのか、男の人は
「なんだかお礼されてもいいかな」などと言う。
「もし百円玉があったら、さしあげますよ」
で、財布の中を見たら、本当に百円玉があった。
男の人は門のような切り株の上で
あぐらをかいた逆立ちみたいなことをしている。
私は彼の口の前に百円玉を差し出す。
すると、唇ではさんで受け取ってくれた。
私は別れを告げ、自然公園を出る。
本当に変な人だったな、と思いながら。

Unnatural Natural Park
The place I casually stopped
by was like a managed natural park.
Although it should be in the forest,
it is divided by trees, and each looks like a room.
There are also warehouses
with piles of logs and stumps,
and places like bright circular stages.
A loud man is talking to someone.
He speaks to me,
and I honestly tell him, "It's a nice place."
The shape of his face is reminiscent of a gourd,
and he looks happy, saying, "Yes, that's right."
After guiding me through the park for a while,
he seems to want to go home first.
"Because no one else is gone."
He tries to leave the key here to me.
"Well, I'm in trouble,
because I may not be here anymore."
He has a troubled expression with his funny face.
Then a good idea comes to me.
"Yes. I'm going home now.
Then I don't have to pick up the key."
After all, that was the case
and I was ready to go home.
Maybe it's a hassle to keep the key,
he says, "I wonder if I can thank you somehow."
"If I have a 100-yen coin, I'll give it to you."
Then, when I looked in my wallet,
I found a 100-yen coin.
He's doing something like a cross-legged handstand
on a gate-like stump.
I offer a 100-yen coin in front of his mouth.
Then he received it with his lips.
I say goodbye to him and leave the natural park.
I thought he was a really weird person.
