古書店街を歩いていた。
ある書店の軒下で男が料理していた。
かつて焼き鳥屋をやっていた知り合いだった。
デリヘル経営に失敗して夜逃げしたはず。
こんなところで働いていたのか。
声をかけたら「あっ、こりゃ、どうも」
どうやら、おれを思い出せない様子。
食事しようと思い、400円を払う。
前に来た時、そんな値段だった。
だが、値上げしたらしい。
「いくらになったの？」
「いやまあ、それはいいんだけどね」
食べる場所は隣のビルの二階らしい。
変わったシステムだ。
その隣のビルから青年が出てきた。
店主と話し始める。
「一本やってもらおうか」
「しょうがねえな」
店主は注射器を取り出す。
慣れた手つきで青年の腕に針を刺した。
青年の表情が徐々に変わる。
どうやら、かなりやばい薬のようだ。
店主の表情も同様に変わった。
二人の顔がおれに迫る。
やばい。危険だ。
逃げなければ、おれも打たれてしまいそうだ。
Dangerous Medicine
I was walking in the old bookstore area.
