第一工場で仕事を終えた。
さて帰ろう。
廊下伝いに第二工場を通る。
こちら、まだ残業を続けている。
ファイルに印刷物を入れるみたいな作業を
なぜか床にしゃがんだ姿勢でやっている。
気になる人妻であるパートさんの姿も見える。
他のパートさんたちは先に帰ってしまったようだ。
私に気づき、疲れた表情で問う。
「向こうでは仕事が終わったの？」
「うん。もう終わったよ」
「じゃあ、こちらも帰れるのね」
「そうだろうな。たぶん問題ないと思うよ」
それで彼女、帰るつもりになったらしい。
ただし、さほど嬉しそうでもない。
まるで、そういう大切な情報が
なぜこちらへ迅速に伝わらないのか
という不満がくすぶっているみたいな感じなのだ。
そういえば彼女、周囲に気を使う人だった。
