曇り空の下、教卓に向かって書き物をしている。
顔を上げると、縁日で賑わう商店街。
小さな女の子が興味深そうにこちらを見上げる。
おぼつかない足取りで近寄って来る。
あまりにも小さい。
手のひらほどの
私が空中に浮かせていた裸足のかかとを見上げ
「これ、舐めてもいいの？」と尋ねる。
私は戸惑いつつも大人の返事をする。
「舐めてもいいけど、汚いよ」
A Little Girl
Under the cloudy sky, I am writing at the lectern.
When I look up, the shopping district is full of fairs.
A little girl looks up with interest.
She approaches with a terrible gait.
Too small.
She is only as tall as an adult's palm.
She looks up at my barefoot heel floating in the air
and asks, "Can I lick this?"
I'm confused and answering the adult.
"You can lick it, but it's dirty."
