下宿の自室で待っている。
今日、知人女性が来訪する予定なのだ。
だが、いつ来るかはっきりしない。
外出せねばならん用事があるというのに。
廊下を人が歩く気配がした。
薄いカーテン越しに開いたドアが見える。
女の声がした。「遅くなりました」
すぐに返事する。「いらっしゃい」
ところが、現れた女は向かいの部屋へ。
「お待ちしてました」
向かいに住んでる女が挨拶する。
「こんにちは」「こんにちは」
「お元気ですか」「ええ、なんとか」
残念ながら、向かいの客だったようだ。
ちょっと恥ずかしい。
Waiting for a Customer
I'm waiting in my room at the boarding house.
An acquaintance woman is scheduled to visit today.
But she's not sure when she'll come.
She has something to do when she has to go out.
I felt like someone was walking down the corridor.
I can see the door open through the thin curtain.
A woman's voice said, "I'm late."
I will reply immediately, "Welcome."
However, the woman who appeared
went to the opposite room.
"I was waiting."
A woman living across the hallway greets her.
"Hello." "Hello."
"How are you?" "Yes, somehow."
Unfortunately,
she seems to have been the opposite guest.
I'm a little embarrassed.
