マンションの裏庭で草刈りをしている。
月一の定期集団清掃では追いつかないからだ。
背の高い草だけを低い位置で刈り取る。
根は残す方針だ。
芝生と雑草、あえて区別しない。
むしろ、芝生は冬枯れて寒々しくなる。
今回の大規模修繕工事で塀を交換し、
その関係から東側の地面を半分ほど掘り返した。
その地面に芝生を植えることになったのだが
住民の女性からクレームがあった。
「半分だけ立派になるなら、植えない方がいい」
左右の景観に差が出るのが許せないらしい。
なんだそりゃ。
ねたみそねみ、ひがみじゃないか。
なんとか説得したが、そう思う女性は他にもいた。
まったく面倒臭い生き物だ。
で、東側との景観の差を大きくしないためにも
西側の手入れが怠れなくなってしまった。
工事してない地面まで自費で追加の芝生を植え、
趣味で造園してくださる東側の住人までいるので
なおさら追い詰められている。
Mowing Cold War
I'm mowing in the backyard of the apartment.
This is because regular group cleaning
once a month is not enough.
I mow only tall grass in a low position.
The policy is to leave the roots.
Weeds and lawns are not distinguished.
Rather, the lawn withers in winter and looks cold.
In this large-scale repair work,
the fence was replaced, and due to this,
about half of the ground on the east side was dug up.
I decided to plant a lawn on the ground,
but a female resident complained.
"If only half is fine, you shouldn't plant it."
She can't allow the difference
between the left and right landscapes.
What is it?
Isn't it jealousy or distortion?
I managed to persuade her,
but there were other women who thought so.
Women are totally annoying creatures.
So, in order not to make a big difference
in the landscape from the east side, the maintenance
of the west side has not been neglected.
It is even more cornered
because there are residents on the east side
who plant additional lawns at their own expense
up to the ground that has not been constructed
and landscaping as a hobby.
