教頭が昨日撮ったらしい写真を見せる。
夕焼け空と校舎が映っている。
なにやら自慢しているようだ。
いやがらせかもしれない。
我々生徒が遅くまで勉強するのを
そんな疑惑が渦巻く。
それで、今日は仕返ししてやろうと思った。
放課後、撮影に出かける教頭をカメラを持って尾行した。
すると、異変が起こった。
夕焼け空の燃える色が飛ぶ鳥に反映されたのだ。
それは火の鳥となり、住宅地に墜落した。
すぐに火の手が上がる。
爆発するようにして引火した戸建て住宅から
元同僚だった懐かしい男が姿を現す。
「わあ。なんだなんだ。火事だ火事だ」
かわいそうに。
もう彼の家は助からないな、と思う。
服にも引火して、彼の命も助かりそうにない。
こんな不幸が世の中にあるんだ。
