姿の見えない怪獣が
僕の住む町を破壊している
思い出の山や川
大切な建物 公園 空き地
道路も橋も 田も畑も
乗り物 草木 人や家畜 鳥や虫
物の大小 価値の高低
生きていようがいまいが おかまいなし
その姿 誰にも見えず
その咆哮 誰の耳にも届かない
なので 大抵
火炎を浴びたり 踏み潰されたり
酷い目にあってから
気づくのだ
An Invisible Monster
An invisible monster is destroying my town.
Memories of mountains and rivers, important buildings,
parks, and vacant lots.
Roads and bridges, rice fields and fields,
vehicles, plants, people and livestock, birds and insects.
The size of things, the high and low of value.
It doesn't matter if they are alive or not.
No one can see it, and no one can hear its roar.
So we usually don't realize it until we're caught in flames,
trampled, or horrified.
