僕は家の中、二階の部屋にいる。
留守番をしているのだろう。
ついさっきまで家族がいたはずなのに
どこかへ出かけてしまったようだ。
「ドーワ」
階下から男の声がした。
ずっと起きていた気もするが、あるいは
その声で昼寝から目覚めたのかもしれない。
（ああ、前にもこんなことがあったな）
大変だと思い、急いで階段を下りる。
内鍵のかかった玄関のガラス戸は閉まったまま。
だが、板の間から続く物置部屋の入口の前、
暖簾のように吊り下がる板越しに人の姿が見える。
そこからだと楽々と家の中に侵入できる。
なぜか僕は怒りを覚える。
それも激しい怒り。
ランニング姿の若い男が三人たむろしている。
そのうちの一人の胸を掌底で突く。
「おまえたちに用はない。向こうへ行け」
言い訳じみた返事をしているようだが
彼らの言葉は外国語のように理解できない。
「あっちへ行け。二度と来るな」
今にも殴りそうな気分。
「ドーワ」

Dowa
I'm in the room on the second floor in the house.
I'm house-sitting.
My family should have been at home just a while ago,
but they seem to have gone somewhere.
"Dowa"
There was a man's voice downstairs.
I feel like I've been awake all the time,
or maybe I woke up from a nap with that voice.
(Oh, there was something like this before.)
I thought it was difficult,
so I hurried down the stairs.
The glass door at the entrance
with the inner key remains closed.
However, in front of the entrance of the storage room
that continues from between the boards,
people can be seen through the boards
that hang like a curtain.
From there they can easily break into the house.
For some reason I get angry.
That is also intense anger.
Three young men in running are hanging out.
I poke the chest of one of them with my palm.
"I have no use for you. Go over there."
They seem to give excuses,
but their words are not as understandable as
foreign languages.
"Go over there. Never come again."
I feel like I'm about to hit them.
