教室で何かの作業を終えたようなのだ。
試験ではなく、工作または食事だったか。
それで、階上の職員室へ行かなければならない。
そんな指示を受けていたような気がする。
欠席している生徒の机の上に立ち
天井にある四角な抜け穴に手をかける。
「そんなところから行かなくてもいいのに」
同級生の女子が見上げ、話しかけてきた。
言われてみると、確かにそうだよな、と思う。
まわり道になるが階段だってあるはずだ。
それでも今さら進路を変更する気になれない。
抜け穴を上り、階上の床から頭を出す。
これから担任の教師に会わなければならない。
誰であったか、性別すら思い出せないが。
Loophole in the Ceiling
It's like I've done some work in the classroom.
Was it a craft or a meal, not an exam?
So I have to go to the staff room upstairs.
I feel like I was receiving such an instruction.
I stand on the desk of a student who is absent
and reach for the square hole in the ceiling.
"You don't have to go from there."
A classmate girl looked up and talked to me.
I think it's true, because she says so.
It will be a detour, but there must be stairs.
Still, I don't feel like changing my course anymore.
I climb up the loophole
and stick my head out of the floor above.
Now I have to meet a homeroom teacher
who can't even remember his or her gender.
