地元の市民センターへ。
国勢調査の調査員説明会に出席。
資料を受け取り、説明を聞く。
５年ごとにやってくる仕事。
これで３回目、あるいは４回目になるか。
視力が衰え、人の顔も区別できない。
後で読める説明書もあるし、何とかなろう。
ウイルス感染の可能性や不安を減らすため
この場における質疑応答はなかった。
「調査員証や腕章など紛失したら
悪用を防ぐため、必ず申し出てください」
説明会が終了して会場を出ようとしたところ
市役所の職員に呼び止められた。
「これを席に忘れられたようです」
DVDとボールペンと腕章を手渡された。
なんということ。
支給されたバッグから滑り落ちたらしい。
ちっとも気づかなかった。
もう世間に出しておけないレベルなのかも。
Lost Property
To the local civic center.
I attended a census investigator briefing.
I receive the materials and hear the explanation.
It is a job that comes every five years.
Will this be my third or fourth time?
I have poor vision
and can't distinguish between human faces.
There is also a manual that can be read later,
so it's ok.
There was no question-and-answer session here
to reduce the likelihood of virus infection and anxiety.
"If you lose your researcher ID or armband,
please be sure to contact us to prevent misuse."
At the end of the briefing session,
when I tried to leave the venue,
the staff of the city hall stopped me.
"You seem to have forgotten these in your seat."
He handed me a DVD,
a ballpoint pen and an armband.
I can not believe that.
It seems they slipped from the bag I was given.
I didn't notice it at all.
Perhaps I'm at a level
I can't put out to the public anymore.
