乗り上げたクルマ

乱暴な運転をしていたクルマが
路上駐車のクルマの上に乗り上げた。

そのため、奥の路肩に駐輪していた　
おれのバイクが出せなくなってしまった。

クルマを運転していた男は　
大型消火器を購入して洗車を始めた様子。

消火器は特殊な使い方をすると水が出るそうだ。
実際、水道の蛇口のように水が出る。

わずかな隙間から苦労してバイクを出した。

状況が理解できない男は文句を言う。
「なんでまた、こんな狭いとこから出すんだ」

「あんたがクルマを乗り上げたからだよ」
「わかんねえな」

「このバイクは昨日から奥に駐輪しておいたんだ」
「ああ、そうかい」

ああ、そうかいじゃないよ。まったく。
迷惑に対して鈍感なやつには文句も通じない。

The Car That Got On

A car that was driving roughly
got on top of a car parked on the street.

劇画の男

電車の中で男と会話していた。
劇画の話だったと思う。

よく思い出せないが　
劇画は漫画とどう違うのか、みたいな。

昔、この男とおれは劇画を描いていたらしい。

で、男の手がおれの髪に触れるたび
「チーン」と鐘が鳴るような音がする。

電車に飛び乗りした記憶もあるので　
ドアの開閉音だったかも。

Realistic Manga Man

朗読の授業

大きな教室。
教師と生徒全員による朗読が始まった。

最初は素直に教科書の文字を目で追いながら。
だが、そのうち気づく。

周囲の朗読を聴きながら　
ほぼ同時にちゃんと発声できることに。

それで、文字を目で追わなくなった。
坊主の真似して念仏を唱えるようなもんだ。

だが、だんだん不安になる。

もし教師に指名されたら　
どこを読んでいるのか返答に困るはず。

読んでいる部分をあせって探し始める。　
なかなか見つからない。

Reading Class

旅館で合宿しているような気分。
女の子たちがパジャマ姿ではしゃいでいる。

じつはサッカーを連想させるボードゲームの
最強位決定戦の会場なのだった。

あまりにも乱雑な有様だったから　
おれは散らかった部屋の片づけを始める。

れっきとした挑戦者なのに。

ゲームシートが布団の下敷きになっていた。
ボードゲームではなかったのか。

名人が偉そうに入室してきた。
「早くやれよ」

「やりますよ。そっちこそ
　お客様になってないで手伝ったらどうです」

「お客様になんかなってないよ」
とてもそんなふうには見えないけどな。

Strongest Deciding Match

I feel like I'm training at an inn.

古本市

作業が終わらないので帰れない。
土曜日だから午前中で授業は終わりなのに。

あるグループも残業を続けている。
気になる女子もいるが、疲れているので喜べない。

やっと終わって屋外へ出る。
校舎だとばかり思っていたのは住宅だった。

玄関の近くに分厚い本が置いてある。
さらに、束ねられた本の山が遠くまで続く。

今日は資源ゴミの回収日であったか。
なのに「今日の回収は終わった」と誰か言う。

すると、古本市か。

欲しい本を物色したい気もする。
だが、疲れているので早く帰りたくもある。

多方面において限界を感じる。

Secondhand Book Market

古書店街を歩いていた。

ある書店の軒下で男が料理していた。
かつて焼き鳥屋をやっていた知り合いだった。

デリヘル経営に失敗して夜逃げしたはず。　
こんなところで働いていたのか。

声をかけたら「あっ、こりゃ、どうも」
どうやら、おれを思い出せない様子。

食事しようと思い、400円を払う。
前に来た時、そんな値段だった。

だが、値上げしたらしい。

「いくらになったの？」
「いやまあ、それはいいんだけどね」

食べる場所は隣のビルの二階らしい。
変わったシステムだ。

その隣のビルから青年が出てきた。
店主と話し始める。

「一本やってもらおうか」
「しょうがねえな」

店主は注射器を取り出す。
慣れた手つきで青年の腕に針を刺した。

青年の表情が徐々に変わる。
どうやら、かなりやばい薬のようだ。

店主の表情も同様に変わった。
二人の顔がおれに迫る。

やばい。危険だ。
逃げなければ、おれも打たれてしまいそうだ。

Dangerous Medicine

I was walking in the old bookstore area.

A man was cooking under the eaves of a bookstore.

湖で泳ぐ

さっきまで湖畔にいたはず。
なのに、もう膝まで水につかっていた。

スクール水着の少女たちが浅瀬を歩いている。
それを伴走するように一頭のイルカ泳ぐ。

楽しそうだ。
おれも移動しながら泳ぎ始める。

左右の腕を交互にかく平泳ぎみたいな
優雅な感じの古式泳法で。

湖岸には人が多いので、湖の中ほどへ向かう。

気持ちよい。心地よい。快い。
いつまでも泳いでいたい気がする。

Swim in the lake

I should have been by the lake until a while ago.

途中、夜間パトロールする学生アルバイトの
警備員二人組と出会う。

何事もない。
研究者の白衣を着ているからだ。

ここは、ある会社の研究所。

地中に埋めて水をやって育てたロボットを
カタログ販売する事業を行っている。

おれもそうだが、この会社も謎だ。
どういうつもりかわからない。

Trespassing

At midnight,
